Step up to Secondary - starting mid July 2026

My child is still at primary, should we wait until they reach secondary?

No, don't wait! As a Year 7 teacher, I’m always struck by the difference that some key dyslexia-friendly study skills could make to all students as they transition from primary to secondary.  It’s never too early to start introducing study skills to enable students to work more effectively, independently and successfully.

Study Skills for Success - starting autumn 2026

My child is already at secondary but I don't feel they're reaching their full potential. Should we delay until they start their exam courses to work on study skills?

It takes time for students to learn the right study skills, use them independently and then transfer them across their subjects. Securing vital study skills before they start learning exam course content saves time and frustration whilst developing their confidence and independence as learners.
